The IELTS examination is globally administered by the British Council, UK and IDP, Australia. This assessment is offered in two different formats: academic and general. Academic IELTS is intended for those who are seeking higher education or professional registration in English-speaking nations, while General IELTS is suitable for individuals who are planning to migrate to Australia, Canada, or the UK. Candidates are allowed to take the IELTS test as many times as needed, with test sessions being conducted approximately 4-5 times per month. It is important to note that the test scores remain valid for a period of 2 years.

The Academic test looks at your English- language proficiency across the four skills Set listening, reading, writing, and speaking.
IELTS General Training test is suitable for those wishing to migrate to a country where English is spoken (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK). The test assesses everyday English language skills that you will need in social situations and in workplace environments.
In IELTS, there are four papers: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The Speaking and Listening tests are the same in both the Academic and the General Training tests, but the Reading and Writing tests are different.
Reading Section
3 Sections Time Allotted - 20 minutes for each section.
Speaking Section
Time Allotted - 11 to 15 minutes
Listening Section
4 Section Time Allotted - 30 minutes. (Plus 10 minutes to transfer answers to an answer sheet)
Writing Section
2 Sections, Time Allotted - 20 mins for 1 section and 40 minutes for other section
